Great work to all who participated, and congratulations to those who followed every aspect of the directions and won a fabulous prize! It will be received this week or next, and what it is will be announced in next week’s update.
🗓️ Weekly Rundown🗓️
Read through a few older weekly updates, and I was loki a dawg.
Lifted and ran every day. Running got a lot harder than I remember. I was thinking, what if I trained for a marathon instead of grinding lifting? Maybe. Unlikely, but the thought popped into my head.
Still rolling on Bible in a Year. This week I read about Joseph, and it’s got me on the edge of my seat, what’s gonna happen to Joseph and his brothers? I will start ranking a top 3 stories of the Bible as it’s read. So far, the top 3 stories are:
1-Joseph getting sold into slavery, then balling out in Egypt
2-The story of creation
3-Abraham about to sacrifice Isaac.
Spanish got hit most days, learning common verbs. Who was in charge of conjugating them, and thought the yo form of saber should be sé, or voy was the perfect yo form of Ir?
Hit the bins and was disappointed. It’s $2.29 a pound but only producing T-shirts that I don’t need, hard to find dress clothes at the thrift store.
Wasted a Saturday scrolling. Best reels I saw: the penguin, people hitchhiking an iron ore train across Africa, and reels glorifying unemployment.
Was confident either Fight Club or Atomic Habits would be finished, but Harry Potter 3 got good and pulled up to even it out. Expect a book or two to be finished next week.
Loved the snow, good shovels, great to play in, and glad I’m not homeless or work outside. Been riding this week out at the vacation home to be closer to the park and to take advantage of its already shoveled driveway.
After work, went to the senior center, and boy was it packed. I guess everyone else wanted to sled after work. Level 3 snow emergency must mean only go to the sledding hill; otherwise, stay home.
Lame week #LowOnSwag, so here are what I’ve learned at work so far that don’t break compliance:
No one knows what’s going on.
The jargon is meant to be vague so you can make what you’re doing sound more important and cool, and hide what you actually mean.
Ex: “Great question! Let’s loop in John” roughly translates to: I have no clue, I don’t want to figure it out, youre now Johns problem.
Small talk not about work is really hard because all people do is work. You’re supposed to say cool sayings just to fill the space that either mean nothing or relay zero information, defeating the purpose of talking to someone and making it impossible to continue a conversation.
Ex:
“What did you do this weekend?”
“I laid low.”
“What does a weekend of laying low look like?”
“Oh, you know… just hunkering down.”
“Oh, cool.”
Rules are only as strong as what backs them. A rule backed by nothing is only followed by sheep and who it benefits.
I have observed if you say anything on a Teams call, it will somehow always become a “learning point” for others. It’s wiser to never talk and just “lay low.”
“To avoid taking up time on a call”, your long intro about who you are, your successes, and then saying you only have one question… blah blah blah… is very convincing that you didn’t want to take up time so everyone can get off the call early.
It’s hard to judge if I can bench more than someone when they’re in a suit.
🦬High Low Buffalo🦬
High:
Playing in the snow. We got 8 inches of fresh pow-pow, making your fall damage basically zero. Took advantage by jumping off the swings and working on my tuck and rolls. Additionally, the snow and ice makes slides very fast and very fun.
Low:
After a week of caffeine, mornings without it are brutal.
Buffalo:
Been enjoying precious metals rising, gold hit 5k and silver is ripping, but what is its future? Time to consult my crystal ball, palms, and tea leaves.
