🗓️ Weekly Rundown🗓️

  • 35 hour drive from Duluth, MN to Bellingham, WA in the 22 foot Penske moving truck.

  • Penske was rough for the first 12 hours - would floor it and never get above 64 on a downhill, but after halfway through Montana she drove swimmingly, but was governed at 70 - should have called Emily to teach us how to remove the governor.

  • Changed my phone’s default language to Spanish which is proving effective for learning Spanish, in addition to texting Backpack in only Spanish.

  • Outside of North Dakota the drive was sick. North Dakota is the same thing over and over again for a long time.

  • Stopped at Roosevelt National Park and saw bison and a cool landscape.

  • Loved driving through Montana and Idaho. Montana was very cowboy and the opposite of Teams calls. Might have to move there.

  • Over the car ride we discussed the most awkward karaoke song to sing… we decided on Rape Me by Nirvana. It then was played on aux a high number of times as a bit, but became awkward when we started to like the song and it wasn’t solely for the bit.

  • Helped Russell and Ellie move in

  • Went on some super cool hikes, most were on a real trail while others not so much - snow makes trails hard to follow.

  • Washington is beautiful - you can see mountains on the horizon everywhere you go - I love mountains.

  • Everyone here seems very granola and like they have never moved the needle from circling back after a deep dive touching base.

  • Very cool hikes, favorite being around Mount Baker where we trekked through the snow and scrambled up a mountain, where when you got to the top we enjoyed a “Pickle Rick” pickle - Nick will make a sick edit of the hike and tbh/rate of Pickle Rick

  • Nick got some cool clips on his handy cam - looking forward to his edit of its content.

  • We then slid down the mountain using a broken ski pole to self arrest, rewarded with a swim in a freezing pond from the runoff of the snow.

  • Lots of cool photos mean lots of cool poses - shout out Willem Dafoe for the inspiration. Matt was hitting all of them at every view.

  • Bits of the trip: Our new favorite Nirvana song, Dafoe, Scrolling, Pickle Rick, rating moss, Moose being fascist.

  • Fun playing Telistrations

  • 13 mile week, no long run but I did hike many miles with one hike having an average heart rate of 150bpm. Shooting for a 20-25 mile week next week.

  • Drank so much Red Bull - wish there was a caffeine free version.

  • WBOTW: Russell and Ellie - brought us along out west and gave us lodging and food.
