On Tuesday, 2Q26 ended and today 3Q26 begins — expect an earnings call in the upcoming weeks

🗓️ Weekly Rundown🗓️

  • Father's Day: Dad had fun playing with his Black Stone, making a large breakfast ft. smash cinnamon rolls and smash burgers — but not any burgers, camel burgers. Camel tastes very similar to beef and venison. Ended with euchre with Grandma

  • Read Ecclesiastes — new favorite book in the Bible

  • Running to Columbus's Audubon, slacklining, then running home is the most free 4 miles of fun

  • Grass looked great this week when cut

  • Went to Toronto with Skidmark and Elove

  • When going to a city you can only listen to artists from that city — it's the rules. Who's the most notable Toronto artist? Drake.

  • Listened to him the whole ride up with no repeating songs — no clue he had that many hits — 7 hours of hits and we could still name songs we forgot to play

  • New stamp in the passport

  • Saw St. Lawrence Market, the CN Tower, where the World Cup game is being played, etc.

  • Made a new friend from France and he asked if people in the US swam and was surprised that we swim at the beach even though we have sharks. More shocked to hear there were no alligators in New York City — also he has never tried ranch

  • Watched soccer at RendeView and made friends with some Toronto locals that recommended a fire Thai spot that was Michelin but still cheap

  • Let me tell you the food was amazing without directly saying it was amazing — a child, maybe 8, took us to our table and English clearly wasn't their first language, and the chef clearly didn't speak English but was in a soccer jersey and very, very foreign looking

  • Toronto is definitely in my top 2 favorite big cities with its only competition being Chicago

  • Niagara Falls is insane, it's so beautiful

  • There are so many non-white people at Niagara Falls — I was clearly a minority

  • Geez it's hot out

  • My next role is in the process of being created

  • High hopes I’ll like doing this work and will be great, but scared because what if it ends up turning into an office j*b that steals all my swag - a top 5 fear of mine

  • Started watching Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix — on episode 4

  • Nick dropped a WA moving edit - LINK TO WATCH IS HERE

  • Ran 22 miles, 13 from the long run — to see it on STRAVA CLICK HERE

  • WBOTW: the Toronto locals we watched Spain v. Uruguay with — cool and told us a lot about Canada and the city

🦬High Low Buffalo🦬

High:

Niagara Falls is insane — it's so much water falling, there was a sick rainbow, it was so sick. The Canada side is so much better than the USA side.

Low:

We slept in the car and in the middle of the night someone parked next to us and woke us up blaring some Latin music

Buffalo:

Missed out on a work event with my future employer (playing euchre with CEO and Joe Burrow)

🧠Something New I Learned🧠

  • If we have invented so much stuff to save time since the Industrial Revolution, why do we still never have any free time? Where does the time go that was saved? How much busier could they have been before a washing machine, car, and other time savers existed?

  • Most things are pointless in the end — the only thing that isn't is just enjoying things

  • Most cities are just the same thing with only small niche differences but overall the same, and to make seeing new ones fun after you have seen a lot, you need to focus on the small details of the city — like how the people act or the famous building it has, like a bean or a CN Tower

  • A joke of the trip was "your opinion was wrong" — as we all enjoyed different things because we prefer different things, so we might have the same cost/benefit analysis for the same events but weigh the costs and benefits very differently

🎵Song of the Week🎵

One Dance by Drake

Honorable Mentions:

  • My Way by Calvin Harris

  • XOXO by Elton Oaks

  • All for You by Sam Barber

Till next time,

VB

Glossary

  • Audubon: park in Columbus with a climbing wall and slackline that you can see the skyline from

  • RendeView: a bar in the middle of the city so it has a great view
