‼️Announcements‼️

Start of the final month of the 3rd quarter, time to peep your Q3 goals and see if you're on pace.

🗓️ Weekly Rundown 🗓️

  • Disc golf with the Poole boys

  • Hot boy walk with OSauer and Thorny — relived the XC glory days as we looked ahead to all of us participating in the Columbus Marathon

  • Mosquitos are so bad

  • Finished reading Divergent by Veronica Roth — went podcast heavy this quarter, not books

  • Haircut and Chick-fil-A with Ms. Howard-Stevens

  • Horse racing with Ms. Campbell as the season is starting to approach close

  • Fantasy football buy-ins are a glorified renewal of the friendship subscription

  • Fantasy football draft in Schreck's friends league — dynasty slow draft

  • Slow draft made the draft feel very drawn out, but I came out with a solid team ready to compete this season with a strong RB duo

  • Cincy with Ms. Campbell to see a few cousins, uncles, and the grandparents

  • Adam gave us salsa… some assembly required — tomatoes, peppers, etc. from his garden

  • Nerf gun wars — I defeated Rustin, he never stood a chance. My superior accuracy and tactics left him in ruin

  • Was reading to Rustin bc he's 5 and can't read, and I was thinking this is crazy he can't read — it felt like a superpower, my reading out loud is a weakness

  • Was doom scrolling pretty hard on Homie G's aura frame — she has some good photos on there - the funny part was seeing Rustin doom scroll it too

  • Fireworks and drone show on the Ohio River and brutal traffic home

  • Steak dinner with Grandma Mary at the vacation house

  • I got a postcard from myself — for some reason it didn't deliver right so it got sent back, it was the only one I ever put a return address on

  • I wonder how many other postcards never made it because I have learned of 1 for sure

  • Started looking at CCW classes

  • I got my 365-day Duolingo streak and I think I’m just going to give it up now - started a year ago with a bet between Scrape and I

  • Rough long run — ate too many fruit snacks or something because by mile 14 my tummy ached so bad I had to yak

  • Ran 26 miles, 17 from the long run — to see it on STRAVA CLICK HERE

  • WBOTW: the grandparents: Grandma Mary had us together for a yummy steak dinner and Homie G and Gpa J got a group together for fireworks

🦬High Low Buffalo🦬

High:
Trip to Cincy

Low:
Getting crashed out on for double cutting a yard that I like to make look good by a silly coworker — is this a new rage bait method?

Buffalo:
I got a very nice handwritten happy birthday from Equitable from the head honcho saying they are glad to have me…. I "worked" there for 2 months and left in March and was ghosted on my resignation letter

🧠Something New I Learned🧠

  • Having a lot of options is only valuable if you cash it in

    • Having less options isn't bad if you choose one you like and are ok with the other options you have forgone infacts its good because you realized value

  • You only have limited time to spend, and if you spend your time one way, you can’t spend it another. The cost of one is the other.

    • You can’t go to Morocco at the same time you go to Alaska; you can only spend your time in one way.

    • That means you pick what you're good at and bad at. If you spend all your time working, you picked to have a good career and not be as close with your family. The cost of one thing is the other options you said no to.

    • It's hard when there are so many good options but so limited time - it's hard to choose how to allocate it between friends, family, health, fun, finances, faith, community, fantasy football, etc.

  • A lot of disagreements are just people valuing different things in different orders than you

    • When they make their trades based on values you don't agree with because you value your friends and family more, but they value their career and health more, it makes your decisions not align perfectly, making both of you live in a way the other wouldn't prefer, and that's fine because that's why you have your life and they have theirs

  • First think what do you value most, then think how do you spend your time, then think based on how you spend your time — does it look like what you value? Do they look like the things you actually value?

    • I spend a lot of time cutting grass and cleaning when I really don't care about a clean room, but I really care about seeing people I like in cool places — maybe I should trade the time of cleaning my room and deal with a messy room to get more time playing with friends
